Don't Look Down
Every summer, I travel with my family to Oshkosh, Wisconsin to attend the Experimental Aircraft Association's AirVenture show. Thousands of aircraft enthusiasts travel from across America to witness an unparalleled gathering of flight machines.
My personal favorite are the WWII fighter planes.
Aesthetically, I love the marriage of function and beauty. The shapes, materials, rivets, utilitarian typefaces and the story-rich nose artwork all make for an inspiring display of design.
The jackets, pants and boots designed for combat have become contemporary menswear staples and these aircraft are infused with that same DNA. How can I utilize these aesthetic ideas in graphic design, clothing design and photography to beautify the future?
